17 BARTENDER TOOLS BARTENDER TOOLS 1 Behind the bar we are like an open kitchen. We are the guest’s first impression and we must look sharp! Proper bar tools are the most essential part of creating the perfect drink every time. At Earls every tool has been individually selected because of its role in creating world class cocktails every time. It is imperative that you ensure your tools are readily available and in proper working order at the beginning and end of each shift. Remember, a world class Bartender can only work in a meticulously clean and organized environment. Happy mixing! • Mixing Glass o Used for ▪ Stirring ▪ Muddling ▪ Shaking with a Shaking Tin o Always build drink in the Mixing Glass rather than in the Shaking Tin so the guest can see the drink being prepared o Add all ingredients first then ice so you can control the dilution through stirring or shaking • Stainless Steel Shaking Tin (Boston Shaker) o Used for Shaking with the Mixing Glass. o We specifically use the Browne brand shakers as they create a great seal and break apart easily with a great snap to boost bartender confidence. o ALWAYS turn 90° when shaking a cocktail to be parallel with the bar as to save the guest from any hazards that may arise. o For standard drinks shake 12 times over your shoulder with a bit of muscle to show authority and quickly chill the drink
